Arteris IP FlexNoC Interconnect Licensed by Horizon Robotics for ADAS Chips
NoC interconnect IP enables more efficient on-chip dataflow for neural networking processing chips and subsystems
CAMPBELL, Calif. – April 2, 2019 – Arteris IP, the world’s leading supplier of innovative, silicon-proven network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect intellectual property, today announced that Horizon Robotics has licensed Arteris IP FlexNoC Interconnect for use in multiple ADAS chips.
Horizon Robotics is one of the world's leading AI startups with shipping products including the Sunrise and Journey processors and the Matrix Autonomous Driving Computing Platform, which was named an Innovation Awards Honoree in the Vehicle Intelligence and Self-driving Technology Category by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) at CES 2019.
“Arteris IP’s FlexNoC interconnect allows us to more easily optimize and implement our chip architectures for ideal dataflow within our ADAS systems, ensuring processing elements avoid starvation and communications occur with minimum latency,” said Dr. Yu Kai, founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics. “We are happy to be working with the world leader in network-on-chip interconnect technology to develop our next generation of pioneering ADAS chips and systems.”
“Horizon Robotics’ choice of Arteris IP is proof of our NoC technology’s value in allowing ADAS SoC design teams to more quickly create sophisticated ADAS chips with extreme power consumption and on-chip bandwidth requirements,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris IP. “We are excited to partner with Horizon Robotics as they push the boundaries of what is possible in AI.”
About Horizon Robotics
Horizon Robotics aims for becoming the global leader of edge AI. By jointly optimizing algorithm and processor design, Horizon Robotics is delivering software and hardware integrated solutions with high performance and low power to equip devices, such as autonomous vehicles and smart cameras, to make human life safer and better. The company has a strong R&D team with rich industrial experience to support the development of the smart world.
Horizon Robotics announced its Series B Financing with c. $600 million total investment at a valuation of $3Bn, jointly led by SK China, SK Hynix, and several top automotive groups and their investment vehicles in February 2019. Other strategic partners and investors involved in this round include China Oceanwide Group’s Oceanwide Capital, CMBC Capital, CLSA’s CSOBOR Fund, and Oceanpine Capital. Existing shareholders, including Morningside Venture Capital, Hillhouse Capital, V Fund Management and Linear Venture, have also participated in the financing. The latest Series B Financing follows the $100M+ Series A Financing in late 2017 led by Intel Capital. In just over three years since inception, Horizon Robotics once again has received significant investment interest and support. http://en.horizon.ai/
