Ubitium Accelerates Universal RISC-V Development with Siemens’ Veloce proFPGA CS

Düsseldorf, Germany – June 25, 2025 – Ubitium GmbH, a pioneering microprocessor startup that is developing a universal RISC-V processor, today announced they are leveraging Siemens™ proFPGA CS platform to rapidly prototype and validate their next-generation processor architecture.

Ubitium is redefining processor architecture by introducing a single, homogenous design that eliminates inefficiencies and simplifies computing, in contrasts to conventional heterogeneous architectures. Instead of relying on separate CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, and FPGAs, the Ubitium universal RISC-V processor dynamically reconfigures itself for different workloads. This reduces complexity, power consumption, and cost, and unlocks a new era of high-performance, software-defined computing. One that scales from embedded systems to data centers while drastically simplifying hardware and software stacks.

By leveraging Veloce proFPGA CS, Ubitium accelerates the development of this homogenous architecture. The Veloce proFPGA CS platform enables high-speed, real-world stimulus driven FPGA-based prototyping, allowing Ubitium to iterate faster, optimize performance, and validate earlier in the design process. This reduces development time, enhances end-product quality, and ensures a smoother transition from RTL simulation to silicon.

“By utilizing the Veloce proFPGA CS platform, we can significantly reduce our development timelines and bring our groundbreaking universal processors to market faster,” said Martin Vorbach, CTO of Ubitium.

“Veloce proFPGA CS, with its versatility, scalability, and affordability is the preferred FPGA-based prototyping platform for emerging companies like Ubitium,” said Jean-Marie Brunet, vice president and general manager, Hardware-Assisted Verification, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “Using the performance and advanced capabilities of Veloce proFPGA CS enables a shift-left development strategy, resulting in high-quality hardware/software products, on time, every time.”
