Denali Simulation Models to Accelerate MMC-Enabled Product Designs
PALO ALTO, Calif., November 15, 2005
-- Denali Software today announced the availability of advanced simulation models for Samsung multimedia cards - MMCplus, MMCmobile, and MMCmicro. Jointly developed with Samsung Semiconductor Inc., the new MMC memory card models use Denali's proven modeling technology, which enables system designers to deploy the models in virtually any commercial simulation or verification environment.
"Memory system design and verification is one of the key bottlenecks facing chip developers today," says Vic Juneja, product marketing manager for Denali. "We are providing the design community with high-quality tools for modeling, simulating, and verifying the correct and optimal use of Samsung MMC memories in the system design environment." The Denali models are used to simulate the detailed features, functionality, and timing of the latest Samsung MMC devices. This includes support for the new MMC high speed interface, programmable data bus, and the new extended CSD register.
"We regard Denali as a key enabler for memory system design and verification," said Andy Yang, Strategic Marketing Manager, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. "By working with Denali, we are ensuring that our customers have the highest-quality simulation models to enable rapid design and verification of new products using the most competitive standards for removable cards today."

About Denali Memory Modeling Products
Denali's MMAV™ (Memory Modeler - Advanced Verification) verification IP product is a comprehensive solution for verifying functionality, compliance, and performance for memory interfaces at the pre-silicon stage of chip or IP development. MMAV utilizes a device configuration file format, SOMA (Specification Of Memory Architecture), to completely specify all vendor-specific features, functionality, and timing for memory device simulation. Denali currently provides SOMA files for over 10,000 commercial memory devices through an online database at: http://www.ememory.com. Quality, completeness, EDA tool integration, and model availability make MMAV the most the most widely used solution for design and verification of complex memory systems.
