2025 Year in Review: Design Wins, Advanced Nodes, and Expanding Markets
2025 marked a strong year of execution for QuickLogic, driven by customer wins across both its eFPGA Hard IP and device businesses, expansion into new end markets, and continued progress at advanced process nodes. Alongside growing adoption of eFPGA IP in defense, data center, edge, and space applications, the company made progress in the execution of its Strategic Radiation-Hardened FPGA development program, reinforcing our position as a trusted supplier of secure, flexible, programmable logic for long-lifecycle systems.
Design Wins That Matter
Commercial, Defense, and Secure Systems
QuickLogic secured multiple eFPGA Hard IP contracts in 2025, underscoring growing demand for reconfigurable logic inside ASICs and SoCs.
- Defense Industrial Base: Two new eFPGA IP contracts targeting GlobalFoundries® 12LP reinforced QuickLogic’s position as a trusted supplier for mission-critical defense programs.
- Intel 18A: Licensed IP and supported two test chip tapeouts.
- Strategic Radiation-Hardened FPGA Program: A prime U.S. government contract expanded in both scope and value, increasing the total ceiling to approximately $88 million over multiple years and adding GlobalFoundries 12LP fabrication. We also announced that we taped out our first test chip for this program.
- Data Center ASICs: QuickLogic announced its first commercial high-performance computing eFPGA Hard IP contract, followed by selection for a production TSMC 12nm data center ASIC—validating eFPGA adoption in performance-driven, high-volume markets.
- Crypto-Agile Security: Idaho Scientific selected QuickLogic eFPGA IP to enable rapid adaptation of cryptographic algorithms and secure processing architectures without repeated tapeouts.
Together, these wins reflect a broadening customer base and growing confidence in eFPGA as a core building block for modern ASIC designs.
Expanding into Edge, IoT, and Research Platforms
Beyond high-performance and defense markets, QuickLogic extended its reach into edge and research-driven platforms:
- IoT and Edge AI: Integration of QuickLogic eFPGA IP into Faraday’s FlashKit™-22RRAM SoC platform enabled post-silicon configurability for AIoT, industrial, and consumer designs, helping customers reduce time-to-market while extending product lifecycles.
- Space and Research: Selection by the University of Saskatchewan’s STARR-Lab for a radiation-tolerant RISC-V microcontroller highlighted QuickLogic’s growing role in open hardware, academic, and space-focused innovation.
Technology Milestones at Advanced Nodes
In 2025, QuickLogic delivered a key industry milestone with the delivery of eFPGA Hard IP optimized for Intel 18A, marking the first known eFPGA Hard IP implementation at a sub-5nm class node. This achievement demonstrated QuickLogic’s ability to scale its architecture to leading-edge processes while maintaining focus on power, performance, and area efficiency.
The company’s proprietary Australis™ IP Generator continued to enable rapid delivery of foundry-specific and customer-specific eFPGA variants, supporting both advanced commercial nodes and long-lifecycle defense programs.
Building Toward a Chiplet-Based Future
QuickLogic joined the Intel Foundry Chiplet Alliance, gaining early access to advanced process and packaging roadmaps and strengthening its strategy to deliver secure, interoperable eFPGA-based chiplets. This move aligns with growing industry adoption of chiplet architectures across defense and commercial markets.
Software as an Enabler
Throughout 2025, QuickLogic continued to invest in its Aurora FPGA User Tools portfolio, improving usability, performance, and integration with industry-standard design flows. The addition of Synopsys Synplify® synthesis further aligned QuickLogic’s eFPGA ecosystem with tools already trusted by FPGA and ASIC teams, lowering barriers to adoption and accelerating design cycles.
