Integrated Embedded Platforms: what do they offer?
The embedded system developer has, until now, had to take on the chore of sourcing and integrating suites of development tools that in more ‘commoditised’ areas, such as the PC market, are already available. Wind River addressed that problem by developing a small number of platforms for main-stream applications, at the same time as making it simpler for customers to take their pick of the enormous array of point tools that it has amassed through numerous acquisitions over the past few years.
