TSMC IP Portfolio Now Includes LTRIM Analog IP Blocks
Montreal – May 10, 2004 – LTRIM Technologies, Inc. today announced that selected LTRIM analog IP blocks are available at TSMC 0.25u technology. Chipmakers using the TSMC foundry can now leverage LTRIM’s silicon-proven IP for low-power and low-voltage applications like wireless, battery-powered portable devices.
“Until now, designers had to use discrete chips to incorporate low power, low quiescent-current, and low noise functionality into an overall design,” said LTRIM CEO, Guy Lemieux. “LTRIM’s CMOS IP can be easily integrated into SoC designs, lowering bill-of-materials (BOM) costs, reducing PCB real estate, and increasing reliability by lowering the number of parts on a PCB.”
“LTRIM’s analog IP is a welcome addition to our silicon-verified, production-proven third-party IP portfolio, especially as chip developers seek innovative ways to bring increasingly integrated SoC designs to market,” said Edward Wan, senior director of product marketing for TSMC’s design service. “Proven and tested IP blocks give designers the shortest time to ‘tape out’ and volume production. This is especially important for products that require fast time-to-market such as portable, wireless devices.”
LTRIM IP Blocks
Currently, 15 LTRIM IP blocks are available in the TSMC library, including:
- The LTR1761, a family of six low dropout voltage regulators, which operate at very low current.
- The LTR1004, a family of four low power shunt voltage references, convenient for battery-powered applications.
- The LTR4040, a family of five low power and low noise shunt voltage references.
LTRIM’s IP has been tested over extended temperature range, features low noise, and will not interfere with other SoC circuits. LTRIM will also assist customers with SoC integration of the company’s IP blocks.
