Phison Selects Andes RISC-V Cores for its First aiDAPTIV+ AI Solution, Marking a Major Milestone in AI Architecture

Hsinchu, Taiwan – February 5, 2026 – Phison Electronics Corp. (TPEX: 8299), a global leader in NAND flash controllers and storage solutions, and Andes Technology Corporation (TWSE: 6533), a leading provider of high-performance, low-power 32- and 64-bit RISC-V processor IP, today announced that Phison’s first aiDAPTIV+ AI solution, code-named E28, is powered by Andes’ N45 and N25F cores — marking a significant milestone in the evolution of next-generation AI and storage architectures.

Phison’s aiDAPTIV+ solution is designed to address the memory and bandwidth bottlenecks of large AI models through a hybrid storage-based memory extension approach and hardware-software co-design. By integrating high-throughput PCIe SSD architecture with flexible compute and control components, aiDAPTIV+ enables cost-effective, on-premise AI deployments across both edge and data center environments.

The Andes N45 and N25F cores serve as the command center for storage control, communication management, and system-level logic orchestration. These RISC-V CPUs interface, through Andes Automated Custom Extensions (ACE), with the front-end AI compute engine and, via the PCIe interface, manage downstream connections to x86 platforms, NVIDIA GPUs, and DDR memory modules—forming a complete, high-speed data path optimized for AI inference and training workloads.

“At Phison, we are committed to driving innovation at the intersection of AI and storage,” said Vincent Cheng, VP of R&D at Phison Electronics. “Our aiDAPTIV+ solution reflects this vision by enabling smarter, faster, and more efficient data pathways for next-generation AI workloads. By integrating Andes’ RISC-V cores and ACE technology into our architecture, we’ve built a flexible and scalable platform that meets the performance, power, and cost demands of AI applications at the edge and in the data center.”

“We are proud to see our AndesCore™ N45 and N25F RISC-V processors as well as ACE technology for custom extensions at the heart of Phison’s groundbreaking aiDAPTIV+ solution,” said Dr. Charlie Su, President and CTO of Andes Technology. “This collaboration highlights the strength of AndesCore CPUs in enabling flexible, power-efficient designs for advanced AI storage applications. As AI workloads continue to grow in complexity and scale, our highly configurable processor IPs deliver the performance and efficiency needed to meet the evolving demands of both edge and data center environments.”

With the successful integration of AndesCore™ RISC-V processors into Phison’s first aiDAPTIV+ solution, both companies are paving the way for more efficient and scalable AI storage architectures. As AI continues to drive innovation, Phison and Andes remain at the forefront, delivering high-performance, cost-effective solutions for the next generation of intelligent computing.
