Toumaz Appoints New CEO
February 21, 2006 -- Nanoscience Inc, the specialist nanotechnology investment holding company, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Toumaz Technologies Ltd, has appointed Dr. Ian Lindsay McWalter as Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. McWalter is considered to be one of the most experienced senior managers in commercialising semi-conductor technology and the Board of Nanoscience regard his acceptance of the role with Toumaz as a significant endorsement of the company's commercial potential.
Dr. McWalter gained his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College in 1976 and has over 20 years of industry experience at senior management level with major semi-conductor and electrical engineering companies. Most recently Dr. McWalter held senior management positions within Gennum Corporation for over 15 years as it grew its market capitalisation from just under $20m to over $600m. For the past 5 years Dr. McWalter was President and Chief Executive Officer of this global semi-conductor company.
Richard Rose, Non-Executive Chairman of Nanoscience, commented:
"Since acquisition, Toumaz, has applied the funds made available to it through the Group and the advancements it has made from a technical perspective have been commensurate with this increased funding.
I am extremely encouraged by the appointment of Dr. McWalter whom I believe is ideally experienced to take Toumaz from its current development stage into a revenue generating commercial supplier of integrated chip solutions. I have no doubt that Dr. McWalter will be invaluable to Toumaz as it progresses with its design, development and commercialisation of low power and ultra-low power integrated circuits and silicon chips for use in wireless and signal processing applications."
