SEGGER delivers day-one J-Link and Flasher support for Arm China's new STAR-MC3

September 30, 2025 -- SEGGER's J-Link series of debug probes and Flasher programmers are set up to provide support for Arm China's new STAR-MC3 CPU IP from the start.

STAR-MC3 is the latest entry in Arm China’s STAR-MC series of embedded processors for multi-scenario AIoT applications.

Users can now immediately reap the benefits of SEGGER’s well-established lines of debug and programming tools for embedded systems. An embedded-industry favorite, the J-Link family of debug probes can download and program directly into flash memories, while the Flasher family of professional in-system programmers delivers reliable, secure, and scalable solutions for almost any programming requirement.

Both the J-Link and Flasher families have a more than two-decade history of providing embedded developers with outstanding performance and a wide range of features. They are also compatible with an extensive list of CPUs.

STAR-MC3 users can also benefit from other compatible products in the SEGGER product ecosystem, such as the powerful Embedded Studio all-in-one integrated development environment, and the advanced Ozone multi-platform debugger and performance analyzer.

“We’re happy to support Arm China with their new STAR-MC3 CPU IP,” says Dirk Akemann, Head of Technical Marketing, SEGGER. “A highlight for us here is that microcontroller manufacturers using the STAR-MC3 in their products will benefit from a head start on J-Link and Flasher support, which is now available from day one.”

“Having SEGGER provide support for their J-Link and Flasher families from the start simplifies establishment of a development ecosystem for companies using our products,” says Albert Huang, Lead of CPU System & Software, Arm China. “SEGGER’s J-Link and Flasher are widely used in embedded development and production, meaning this partnership is sure to make life easier for many developers.”
