MIPS Technologies Appoints Chief Technology Officer
Mike Uhler will Lead Evolution of MIPS® Architecture As “Technology of Choice” for Embedded Applications
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 2, 2003 -- MIPS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MIPS, MIPSB), a leading provider of processor architectures and cores for digital consumer and business applications, today announced the appointment of Mike Uhler, 50, as the company’s first chief technology officer. Previously, he served as the vice president for systems, architecture and software products at MIPS Technologies.
Uhler brings more than 25 years of engineering experience in the semiconductor and computer industries to his new role as CTO. In this position, he is responsible for driving the strategy and vision of the MIPS® Architecture, core and software products and related standards for MIPS Technologies.

With this promotion he will be the primary leader of MIPS’ technical direction.”
Uhler has been part of the MIPS management team since 1994, when he joined the MIPS Group of Silicon Graphics. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Digital Equipment Corporation, working on SMP operating systems and system design, and as the lead architect for VAX microprocessor chips. He holds twenty one patents in computer architecture, hardware and software design, and has an additional twenty two patents pending. Uhler earned his BSEE and MSCS degrees from the University of Arizona.
