Ingot Announces New DDR1/DDR2 Memory Controller Evaluation Kit
- Ingot Systems, the leading provider of Electronic Design Solutions, today announced the immediate availability of the EK4001 DDR1/DDR2 Memory Controller Evaluation Kit. The kit allows a designer to easily determine the schedule efficiency and operating frequency for the Ingot IP4001 DDR1/DDR2 Memory Controller IP Core. The kit contains encrypted RTL source for use as a simulation model to determine efficiency and a short data sheet with the timing margin numbers for all outputs, inputs and internal paths for the memory controller. Key timing numbers are also provided for a common ASIC process- .13u TSMC. The evaluation design is full-featured: 800MHz operation, 32-bits data with ECC support, advanced scheduling algorithms with request merging and bypass optimization, and multiple priorities. Also included are a memory model and a test bench for random and sequential access patterns. A detailed product brief is available on the Ingot Systems web site at www.ingotsys.com.

Intelligent Memory Manager IP Core Features
The Ingot Intelligent Memory Manager (IMM) is designed to provide ultra-low latencies while delivering the highest possible performance. The IMM is designed with high frequency operation in mind and can support 400MHz clock speeds (800 Mbps) in 90nm and 0.13um process. The IMM implements advanced scheduling algorithms to optimize access to the DRAM, sophisticated request merging and bypass optimizations for high performance, and multiple priorities to differentiate between critical and non-critical accesses.
Electronic Design Solutions
Traditional Design Service and IP companies take a ‘one-size fits all approach’ and typically offer a previously completed design (as an IP Core) as a solution to your design. It will require additional time and engineering effort to get it to ‘fit’ your requirements. Ingot has taken a more ‘custom tailored’ approach. We have used our extensive system design experience to create a unique infrastructure that allows us to tailor our target designs to your specific application. We call these design environments Electronic Design Solutions (EDS) Technology.
