GlobalFoundries Appoints Matthew Zack as Chief Corporate Development Officer
Seasoned corporate development leader to drive mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships to accelerate growth
MALTA, N.Y., Dec. 1, 2025 – GlobalFoundries (NASDAQ: GFS) (GF) today announced the appointment of Matthew Zack as Chief Corporate Development Officer (CCDO), reporting to Chief Executive Officer Tim Breen and joining the company’s executive leadership team.
An experienced corporate development executive with a proven track record of driving strategic growth through acquisitions and partnerships, Zack will lead all aspects of GF’s worldwide corporate development efforts. As GF continues to expand its global technology portfolio, key areas of focus for Zack will include mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic partnerships, targeted venture investments to complement GF’s portfolio, and post-close integration to accelerate innovation and deliver differentiated solutions for customers.
Zack joins GF from Synopsys, where he co-led the integration management office for the $35B Synopsys-Ansys transaction, one of the largest strategic combinations completed in the semiconductor ecosystem to date. Prior to that, Zack served eight years as Global Head of Corporate Development at Ansys, where he delivered meaningful growth through more than 20 acquisitions and strategic partnerships with industry leaders, helping to reshape the company’s portfolio and drive its market cap from $8B to over $35B. Before joining Ansys, Zack held various leadership positions at SAP, Ariba and FreeMarkets. Zack also serves as chair of the board at EdgeCase, an AI startup focused on enabling safe deployment of complex systems.
