Athena announces availability of FFT processors for broadband
Gainesville, FL - January 10, 2007 - The Athena Group, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance, low-power signal processing products, today announced the general availability of its silicon-proven, extreme performance FFT product line of IP cores for broadband communications. The Athena Atomic Signal Processing library now supports sampling rates ranging from kilohertz to 500 MegaSamples per second and beyond.
"We are proud Athena has been able to sustain our technology lead in the FFT market," says Dr. Jon Mellott, CTO of Athena. "As the broadband communications industry continues to adopt new protocols and increase throughput, the need for ever faster FFT cores continues to drive our innovation. Athena now has a variety of architectures that can address throughputs in the 500 MegaSample range and beyond, while maintaining the power efficiencies that customers have come to expect from Athena."
Athena's proprietary arithmetic technology enables extraordinary throughput levels with superb power efficiency and area conservation. Years of research, development, and refinement have produced an incomparable array of Athena signal processing accelerators, with unmatched performance in both FFT accelerators and the TeraFire® public key cryptographic accelerators. While more efficient at any performance level, Athena's technology easily scales to extreme high performance, making it ideal for the most challenging applications - whether that challenge is total performance or minimum power consumption. Applications ranging from GPS filters to WiFi, WiMAX, and even space-based reconfigurable receivers, all find Athena's unique technology delivers unmatched results.
