picoTurbo Licenses Microprocessor Cores to eSilicon Corporation

Innovative partnership delivers RISC cores through fabless ASIC provider for full-service, advanced ASIC and SOC design

MILPITAS, Calif. (July 9, 2001) – picoTurbo, a leading provider of synthesizable RISC microprocessor cores and Turn-key IP™ solutions, today announced it has licensed two microprocessor cores to fabless ASIC company eSilicon Corporation to enable full-service integrated circuit (IC) design services for a broad range of embedded applications.

Under the terms of the licensing agreement, the pT-100 and pT-110 microprocessor cores from picoTurbo will become part of eSilicon’s intellectual property (IP) library, providing eSilicon with powerful microprocessor solutions for enhanced system-on-a-chip (SOC) designs and application specific integrated circuits (ASICs).

eSilicon will provide all of the steps of IC design, verification and production of advanced SOCs and ASICs containing the pT-100 and pT-110 cores, which are responsible for key microprocessor functionality in wireless, portable, consumer, networking and other embedded applications.
