LTRIM 10-bit A-to-D IP Block Ideal for Low-power, Muxed Input Apps
– LTRIM today announced the LTR9200-T18, a 10-bit, low-power, Successive Approximation Register (SAR) Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) Intellectual Property (IP) block. LTRIM designed this new mega-sample converter block specifically to meet the requirements of portable, battery-powered systems. With eight multiplexed inputs and integrated sample-and-hold, the LTR9200-T18 is an ideal, cost-effective IP component for chip designers who need fast sampling of multiple analog sources.
“With one LSB max Differential Nonlinearity (DNL) and Integral Nonlinearity (INL), our new 10-bit A-to-D block is both fast and dependably accurate,” said Mike Shamshirian, LTRIM Vice president of Corporate Sales. “Moreover, it draws only a couple milliamps, making it ideal for low-power, muxed input designs like sensor interfaces in a variety of vertical application markets.” LTRIM specializes in high-performance power management and other analog IP solutions that integrate into mixed-signal system-on-chips (SoCs) and other analog chips.
- Fast throughput rate of 1 MSPS
- Low power consumption: 3.3V for analog and 1.8V for digital; 2mA of current in active mode; 100nA in shutdown mode
- Built-in sample and hold circuitry with offset calibration
- Configurable multiplexed, analog inputs: eight single-ended inputs or four fully differential inputs
- Industrial temp range: -40°C to +85°C
Typical applications for the new LTR9200-T18 include sensor interface/data acquisition, automotive sensors, multi-sensor wireless networks, building/home control, high-end mobile phones, biomedical devices/industrial automation, and battery powered, and handheld systems.
The IP block is designed in TSMC 0.18-micron CMOS technology and can be retargeted to other foundry process technologies.
