Kilopass Executive Harry Luan is Promoted to CTO
After a five-year vacancy, Kilopass Technology fills the position of CTO.
Santa Clara, CA -- April 1, 2009 – Kilopass Technology, a leading provider of semiconductor logic non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), today announced that after 5 years of leading the company’s innovation efforts as the Director of Technology Development, Harry Luan has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. In his new role of CTO, Luan will lead the company’s efforts to incubate new NVM technology areas and foster Kilopass’s commitment to technology innovation and reliability.
“Kilopass has undergone many exciting changes this year with the purpose of moving the company into the next phase of growth.” said Charlie Cheng, CEO of Kilopass Technology. “We are extremely fortunate to have Harry’s broad technical expertise, long-term vision and balanced business perspective to lead Kilopass into the development of the next generation of embedded NVM.”
Mr. Luan has over 20 years of experience with a strong background in VLSI semiconductor process technology, integration, device engineering, product reliability, and product qualification. He is an expert in CMOS/NVM memory device physics, modeling, optimization, and characterization for technology development, yield enhancement, and failure analysis.
Prior to joining Kilopass, Harry Luan held various technical and management positions at AMD, Hynix, Cypress, and Winbond. He made key contributions in research and development of non-volatile memory and logic technologies including EPROM, EEPROM, FLASH, SONOS, R-RAM, and CPLD. Dr. Luan obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
“Kilopass has pioneered antifuse embedded NVM in standard CMOS with its 1T, 1.5T/2T, and 3.5T patents.” said Harry Luan. “With new process technologies including HKMG and FinFet on the horizon, there are new challenges and opportunities to expand the patent portfolio and product offering to include multi-time programmable (MTP) and one time programmable (OTP) NVMs. I am honored and excited to help deliver Kilopass’s next generation products.”
