Impinj's 'Try It Now' Program Removes Barriers to Semiconductor IP Adoption
AEON(R) Embedded NVM Available for Evaluation at No Cost, No Risk
SEATTLE, WA -- April 10, 2006 -- Impinj, Inc., the leading supplier of embedded nonvolatile memories (NVM) and RFID semiconductors, today announced its 'Try It Now' program to ease adoption of the company's AEON® family of nonvolatile memory (NVM) IP.
Under the Try It Now program Impinj provides a free, six-month evaluation license so that AEON NVM can be embedded into system-on-chip (SoC) designs to allow evaluation of performance and functionality in a target application. Upon successful completion of the evaluation, the license can be modified, allowing chips containing the NVM to enter full production.
Impinj's suite of NVM products are silicon proven with over 100 million units shipped in 2005 alone. Targeted at advanced, logic CMOS manufacturing processes, AEON cores offer multiple-times programmability but require no additional mask layers or processing steps. AEON can store encryption keys, unique chip identification numbers, chip or system configuration data and trim bits for on-chip analog components. Available at the world's leading foundries, Impinj's NVM cores are in volume production at 0.18um and 0.25um process nodes with 0.13um in qualification.
"We want to help customers adopt newer technology faster," said Larry Morrell, Impinj vice president of IP Products. "The Try It Now program will offer a risk-free way to dramatically decrease the two-year design and qualification process."
