Faraday Provides PixArt USB IP, Joining Hands for Next-generation Product Lines
Professional technical support and in-time services fulfill PixArt’s demand and solidify the relationship
Hsinchu, Taiwan and Sunnyvale, California -- September 4, 2007 -- Faraday Technology Corporation, a leading ASIC and silicon IP provider, has gained high recognition in USB IP market by licensing its USB2.0 solutions to dozens of fabless companies in various applications. Faraday recently announced PixArt, a fabless IC company specialized in CMOS image sensor and related IC design, is one of its USB IP customers. Based on the joint success from both companies' cooperation, Faraday now has become the major USB IP vendor for PixArt , and the two companies are working closely on the next-generation product lines.
Faraday USB2.0 IP solutions have got wide acceptance in the market, covering almost all hot applications in mass storage, multimedia, game console, and communication sectors. When combined with other IPs such as RISC CPU, DSP, Serial ATA, and Ethernet in Faraday's broad IP portfolio, Faraday's USB2.0 PHYs and controllers deliver a complete, low power and small-die-sized solution for SoC designs.
"We always take intensive survey in choosing IP vendor. In our opinions, a qualified IP vendor should have their advanced IP roadmap, provide the best solution, and most importantly, offer in-time support and show their prompt problem-solving capabilities. Faraday has been doing great in accumulating abundant IP portfolio and the system integration techniques, and as Faraday march into advanced process nodes, we look forward to closer relationship with Faraday," said Jason Lu, Vice President at PixArt.
"We are glad that we have entered into a milestone with PixArt in terms of USB project cooperation. The experience with PixArt proves that Faraday is on the right track and we will continue investing more dedicated resources to expand our influence in this IP supply chain, which shall contribute to our customers' success in market and their product competitiveness," said H.S. Wang, Vice President of IP Business and IP Technology at Faraday.
Faraday's USB OTG PHY and Controller IP are silicon proven in UMC 0.25µm, 0.18µm, 0.13µm, and 90nm processes, while the 65nm USB OTG PHY IP will be available soon in 2007. Faraday's USB IP is the solution of the most compatible, the smallest size, and the lowest power consumption in industry now. To ensure an easy start and assist customers to shorten their time to market, Faraday provides customers with fully support in terms of hardware and software, a complete testing and developing environment, which include EV Boards, software, data sheets, and application notes.
