Faraday Launches FIE7020 Audio Platform Solution Targeting Portable Audio Applications
Hsinchu, Taiwan and Sunnyvale, California -- March 14, 2007 -- Faraday Technology today announces the formal launch of its FIE7020 audio platform, targeting the booming portable audio consumer applications worldwide. To overcome problems facing the portable multimedia consumer industry, Faraday's FIE7020 is the optimal solution with ultra-low power consumption, which prolongs audio playback time, and it supports all major video/audio codec formats, such as MP3, WMA, AAC, DRM10, JPEG, MPEG-4, etc. To fit changing business requirements, FIE7020 provides highly integrated total solutions giving customers the flexibility to customize with options tailored to their needs.
Faraday provides high performance 32-bit RISC CPU-based audio solutions, FIE7020 platform, which supports NAND flash/SD MMC card/HDD-based audio solutions with add-on video playback functions. The high integration of this SoC solution fosters the acceleration of time to market, with flexible extension buses (SPI, I2S, I2S ...) for customization as well as various audio/video algorithm support for MP3, WMA, DRM 10, JPEG, MPEG-4 playback, etc. In addition to high quality audio playback, FIE7020 also supports high resolution (up to QVGA 30 fps) video playback functionality. Leveraging Faraday's low power technology, FIE7020 can meet ultra-low power demands from portable audio devices.
“FIE7020 audio solution uses our CPU technology, and is able to satisfy the ultra-low power and quality requirements in the high-end portable consumer market with a wide range of algorithm supports. To provide total solutions for our customers, FIE7020 is designed to resolve major obstacles in the portable multimedia consumer industry with its flexibility to customize and integrate into customer's devices,” said associated vice president C.J. Liang of Multimedia Business Unit, Faraday.
Faraday already has several design wins based on the FIE7020 platform in Greater China area and is ready to launch mass production in Q2, 2007. Both Faraday's FIE7 series platforms, FIE7020 and FIE7005, come with user friendly software development tools to make customer's product design more efficient and effective.
