Falanx Welcomes Harald Backer as Chief Operations Officer
Campbell, Calif. - 15 November, 2005 - Falanx Microsystems, Inc., the developer of mobile graphics IP cores for System-on-Chip (SoC) semiconductor manufacturers today announced that Mr. Harald Backer has joined Falanx as chief operations officer, COO. Mr. Backer will lead the operations group overseeing finance, contracts, human resources, manufacturing, quality assurance, supplier, and customer service, as well as developing strategic business and technology objectives for each of these areas.

"Harald has been instrumental in managing, defining and driving core technologies throughout his career, giving him a unique understanding of our requirements that further support our growth as a world-class supplier of IP cores."
Mr. Backer's accomplishments include working with both large and small companies to achieve overall effectiveness in strategy, information technology, sales, marketing, finance and engineering.
Mr. Backer most recently served as vice president of engineering for VoxelVision. Acquired by Schlumberger in 2003, VoxelVision was a pioneer in the development of high-performance processing technologies for managing, visualizing and interpreting massive 3D volumes. He was District Manager of ErgoSolutions within ErgoGroup AS, one of Norway's largest IT companies. As well, he co-founded and served as vice president of engineering and customer service for Clustra, now a Sun Microsystems company. Clustra provided a massively scalable, highly available session and state persistence infrastructure for deploying robust J2EE applications.
Mr. Backer graduated in 1983 from NTNU, Norway and holds an MS in Engineering Cybernetics.
