Dolphin Integration announces the expansion of its offering in power management
From Power management Companions to Power management Solutions
Meylan FRANCE and Laval CANADA -- October 15 2007 -- A few months after the official founding of its Canadian subsidiary specialized in power management, Dolphin Integration announces a deep expansion of its offering in this domain.
Indeed, the Enabler of Mixed-Signal System-on-Chip will launch in the coming weeks a complete line of Virtual Components including high efficiency Direct Current converters, as well as highly integrated battery management and voltage monitoring functions.
"This is a turning point in our offering, comments Jean-François POLLET, CIO and Marketing Director, as Dolphin will now provide not only power controllers companions for the well-established audio converters and standard cell libraries, but also position itself as a Provider of global solutions for low-power SoCs. Our innovative architectures bring so much value to the integration of power management functions in SoCs, that it shall benefit to all types of power distribution Components. Most of our customers are eager to rationalize the power management of their SoC and have already perceived this value so they pull us to enrich further our product range."
Integrating ever more functions into a SoC is indeed a main trend both for economical and technical reasons: embedding more functions is a must for the competitiveness of nanometric processes; it also makes any SoC more attractive to PCB designers.
This trend is coupled with the stringent need to manage different voltage islets within a SoC for optimizing the power consumption of portable applications.
Dolphin Integration has succeeded in solving the difficult trade-off for a safe integration between Power management efficiency, optimization to the driven load, and adaptation to the noise constraints of multimedia application.
