ASICLAND Signs New Contract with Global Neuromorphic AI Leader BrainChip

  • Secures next-generation “neuromorphic AI” project beyond conventional NPUs, aiming to lead the future semiconductor market
  • Selected as a key design partner by BrainChip, accelerating overseas customer acquisition and revenue diversification

February 24, 2026 -- ASICLAND, a specialized provider of custom semiconductor design solutions led by CEO Jongmin Lee, announced on the 23rd that it has signed a new semiconductor design and supply agreement with BrainChip, the world’s first company to commercialize neuromorphic processors and a global AI semiconductor leader.

The agreement covers the development of BrainChip’s second-generation neuromorphic AI processor, the AKD2500. Under this project, ASICLAND will provide comprehensive Level 1 design services, encompassing ASIC design incorporating the customer’s neuromorphic core, as well as wafer packaging and testing.

BrainChip is the first company to commercialize neuromorphic technology that mimics the neural network structure of the human brain. Its flagship product, the Akida processor, adopts a Spiking Neural Network (SNN) architecture that performs computation only when data changes, thereby maximizing energy efficiency. It also features on-chip learning capability, enabling real-time learning directly on the device. Through these innovations, BrainChip is expanding its global presence across various Physical AI sectors, including autonomous driving, robotics, wearables, and intelligent IoT.

In particular, the AKD2500—the focus of this collaboration—is based on BrainChip’s second-generation architecture and is optimized for ultra-low-power, high-efficiency computing required in fast-growing fields such as robotics and Physical AI.

Through this contract, ASICLAND has expanded its design portfolio beyond conventional NPU development to include next-generation neuromorphic AI semiconductors. The company expects this milestone to serve as a significant technological leap, enabling it to attract global fabless customers beyond the domestic market.

“Partnering with BrainChip, a global leader in neuromorphic AI, demonstrates that ASICLAND’s ASIC design capabilities are competitive at a global level,” said CEO Jongmin Lee. “By successfully delivering this project, we will further solidify our technological foothold for securing global fabless clients and actively increase the proportion of overseas revenue.”

Meanwhile, as Korea’s only member of TSMC’s Value Chain Alliance (VCA), ASICLAND continues to expand collaboration with clients across diverse industries, leveraging its accumulated expertise in advanced-node design.
