ARM Announces RealView ICE 3.3
CAMBRIDGE, UK â Aug. 7, 2008 - ARM [(LSE: ARM); (Nasdaq: ARMH)] today announces the availability of debug support for the CortexTM-A9 processor with the release of version 3.3 of its RealView® ICE run control unit. This release now also supports TI OMAP3 and TI DaVinci platforms and the ARM1176JZF-S⢠platform, which in addition to support for the Freeescale i.MX31 application processors, further enhances the benefits of the RealView debug tools.
New Features
Release 3.3 of the RealView ICE firmware incorporates many new features, including:
- Full debug support for the ARM® Cortex-A9 processor
- Support for the TI OMAP 34xx, TI OMAP 35xx, TI OMAP 1710, TI DaVinci, Freescale i.MX31 and ARM PB1176JZF-S⢠platforms. Supported operations include auto detection, manual selection, debug enabling on connect and reset, and watchdog support
- Delivery for the first time with RealView ICE, of the ARM CoreSight⢠Access Tool (CSAT) for low-level interrogation of CoreSight systems
- Support for the host software on a wider range of platforms which now include Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5; including Linux USB support for run control and trace functionality
- Enhanced configuration and display of CoreSight systems including auto-associations performed for simple trace topologies, visual display of CoreSight components as children of their respective Debug Access Points, and GUI editor for defining trace associations
- AMBA® AHB⢠download utility which enables fast download to devices connected to the JTAG-AP in CoreSight systems

Availability: August 2008
The release will be available from the middle of August and customers will be able to order RVI 3.3 from your local authorized RealView Development Tools Distributor.
