AccelerComm® Appoints Satellite Industry Veteran Richard Greco as Chairman to Propel Growth in 5G Non-Terrestrial Network Solutions
Southampton, UK & Irvine, California – March 11th, 2025 – AccelerComm®, the leading provider of high-performance, error-resilient physical layer solutions for 5G and beyond, today announced the appointment of Richard Greco as Chairman of the Board. Greco is a veteran of the satellite and telecommunications industries, bringing more than 30 years of knowledge and leadership experience to AccelerComm as the company expands its focus on 5G NTN (non-terrestrial networks) direct-to-device and broadband solutions. AccelerComm and Mr Greco are attending the Satellite 2025 conference in Washington DC between 11-13 March on Stand 639.
Greco’s background includes holding the position of CEO of a multi-billion-dollar NASDAQ-listed satellite communications company and a track record of successful exits from multiple tech startups. He brings a unique blend of expertise in both public and private sectors as well as founding and scaling his own startup from scratch. His experience includes CEO roles at Cellcrypt Group and ICO Global Communications, the position of founder, Chairman and CEO of Bulldog Communications and President of Loral Orion Network Systems.
“The integration of satellite and terrestrial networks to deliver direct-to-device and broadband services globally represents a significant opportunity, and AccelerComm's technology is at the forefront of this evolution,” said Richard Greco, Chairman of AccelerComm®. “I am excited to be part of the team and contribute to advancing solutions that enable seamless connectivity between satellite networks and everyday mobile phones.”
Dr. Lee Thornton, AccelerComm Board Member representing IP Group, expressed strong support for the appointment, stating, “Richard's extensive experience and leadership in the satellite industry will be invaluable as AccelerComm expands its presence in the NTN segment. His vision aligns perfectly with our goal to revolutionize mobile communications through direct-to-device and broadband satellite connectivity.”
Professor Rob Maunder, Founder and Chief Technical Officer of AccelerComm, added, “Appointing Richard as our Chairman is a significant milestone for AccelerComm. His insights and strategic guidance will accelerate our mission to deliver cutting-edge physical layer solutions that bridge the gap between satellite and terrestrial networks.”
At the recent Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, AccelerComm unveiled its prototype 5G NTN physical layer solution for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. This cutting-edge technology delivers up to 6Gbps, supporting 128 beams and 4,096 users per chipset, representing a 30-fold increase in performance compared to previous generations. Each LEO satellite using AccelerComm technology can incorporate multiple chipsets, allowing performance in excess of 20Gbps and 500 beams.
