Express Logic Announces ThreadX RTOS for CEVA-TeakLite III DSP Core

San Diego, CA, November 1, 2010 ― Express Logic, Inc., the worldwide leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced that its popular ThreadX RTOS now supports CEVA, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: CEVA); (LSE: CVA), CEVA-TeakLite-III™ DSP core. CEVA-TeakLite-III is a third-generation DSP architecture based on the broadly adopted TeakLite family of DSP cores. It features native 32-bit processing, including 32-bit multiplier with 72-bit accumulation for full data precision, as well as strong bit-manipulation capabilities for stream processing and 32-bit FFT support to enable a highly efficient implementation of communication modems and audio codecs. A well-balanced 10-stage pipeline allows the DSP to support high-speed implementations, making it ideal as a single core for most demanding wide-band voice and HD audio use-cases. The feature-rich native 32-bit architecture is backward compatible with previous members of the CEVA-TeakLite family and delivers higher performance and lower power for demanding applications such as 3G cellular handsets, High Definition (HD) audio, Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and portable audio devices.
