Securicor selects IndigoVision as live networked video provider
Major security player selects IndigoVision's IP video technology for "Digital Security" product range
May 13, 2002 - IndigoVision Group plc (LSE: IND), the leader in live networked video technologies, has announced today that its IP video technology has been selected by Securicor Information Systems (SIS) for its major push into digital security. SIS has exclusively committed to IndigoVision's VideoBridge live networked video technology for integration into a range of digital security solutions.
"We selected IndigoVision because of their leading-edge live network video technology," commented Andy Cotton, Head of Digital Security at SIS. "Being at the forefront of progressive technologies is key to SIS's future product strategy and our partnership with IndigoVision is a significant milestone in helping us to achieve this."
IndigoVision's networked video technology will let SIS customers view live or recorded video from anywhere. It allows customers to view video on any network-connected PC in addition to or in place of traditional TV monitors housed in central CCTV control rooms. The technology also allows SIS to develop innovative new capabilities, such as providing video wirelessly to a PDA carried by a security guard on patrol.
Oliver Vellacott, CEO of IndigoVision, said: "Our partnership with Securicor is a major industry endorsement of our technology and is one of our most significant contracts to date within the security industry."
Under the agreement SIS will develop systems using IndigoVision's networked cameras, networked camera servers, Networked Video Recorders (NVR) and live networked video Software Development Kit. These products allow SIS to extend its Digital Security range, creating a "one-stop-shop" for integrated security solutions. All the IndigoVision components communicate using the company's VideoBridge network protocol and allow SIS to adapt its Digital Security solutions for different customer environments.
As part of the agreement, SIS is joining IndigoVision's partner program and will receive technical support, marketing assistance and sales training to quickly bring the benefits of live networked video to its extensive customer base.
