GDA Demonstrates its PCI-Express Gen 2 Controller (GPEX-GEN2) at 5Gbps for High Performance Applications
San Jose, CA, June 11, 2008: GDA Technologies, Inc. a Global Electronics Design services and IP provider, 100% owned subsidiary of L&T Infotech today announced successful functional operation of its Gen2 PCI Express Controller on its hardware platform. GPEX-Gen2 controller IP has been made available since last year and has been implemented in several customer designs requiring high performance throughput. “This is a major accomplishment for our PCI Express Gen 2 product offering. It confirms our continued leadership and commitment to PCI express and serial interconnect technologies,” said Ravi Thummarukudy, VP and General Manager of IC and IP division at GDA, in a statement.
Thummarukudy added: "This puts us in an elite club of very few initial providers of 5G speed that industry is moving towards. Our controller has undergone exhaustive verification and interoperability testing with leading PHY providers minimizing risk and reducing time to market for our customers”.
GPEX’s flexible backend architecture allows for easy integration into wide range of applications. The IP is feature rich, highly flexible, scalable, configurable and timing friendly design. It supports wide range of data widths (32, 64,128) and configurable lanes (x1, x2, x4, x8, x16 and x32) and is independent of application logic, PHY designs, implementation tools, and target technology. The IP is exhaustively verified and has been fully tested against design specific and protocol compliance checklist. GPEX IP is compliant with PCI-SIG’s Single Root I/O Virtualization and Sharing Specification Revision 1.0, Address Translation Services Revision 1.0 and supports Alternative Routing-ID Interpretation (ARI) Specification. GPEX cores support end point, root complex, hybrid (root complex and end point), switch port, and complete PCI Express transparent switches. Bridge interfaces to standard on-chip buses such as AHB and AXI are also available.
GDA Technologies, Inc is exhibiting GPEX-Gen 2 controller at the PCI-SIG Developers Conference on June 11-12, 2008 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. GPEX-Gen 2 IP solution is available immediately for licensing. Please contact GDA Technologies, Inc. for pricing.
