PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2005
-- Ambric(TM), Inc., a new fabless semiconductor company, announced it has added the former president of ARM USA, Jerry Ardizzone, to its start-up team as vice president of sales. Ardizzone brings to the company deep business understanding of the embedded systems and the semiconductor industries. Ambric is developing a new type of programmable integrated circuit (IC) platform that will help electronics companies accelerate time to market for their products while slashing chip development costs. Last year, the company announced it had completed a $10.4 million Series A funding round.
"I am delighted that we are able to bring Jerry aboard," said Jay Eisenlohr, president and CEO of Ambric. "His vote of confidence in Ambric's technology and business strategy is important because Jerry is a seasoned industry veteran and significant player in the embedded systems processing world."
Continued Eisenlohr, "The whole company is impressed by how quickly Jerry has come up to speed in just a few weeks. He is already planning for and building our sales organization, as well as taking a lead role in customer engagements and leveraging his extensive industry contacts and relationships. Jerry's efforts and energy have been a catalyst for speeding our progress toward our business goals."
"Based on my 20 years of experience selling ASICs, ASSPs and embedded microprocessors, I am very aware of the design challenges these devices present to designers of electronic products," said Ardizzone. "I am very impressed with what Ambric will bring to these companies, as are the early customers with whom Ambric is engaging. Ambric's programmable IC platform will definitely revolutionalize embedded application design and the semiconductor industry. I can't think of a more exciting place to be at this point than with the Ambric team."
