MorethanIP and Innocor announce the interoperability check of MorethanIP 10 Gigabit Ethernet MAC (Medium Access Control) and 10G-BaseR PCS (Physical Coding Sub-Layer) with Innocor’s 10 Gigabit Ethernet test solution
February 19, 2003 - MorethanIP’s 10 Gigabit Ethernet Cores are available today for both ASIC or Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs), and can be used to quickly and reliably design system level applications from PHY applications such as Xenpak modules, integrated 10 Gigabit Ethe rnet MAC controllers or network performance monitoring devices.
“Failure is not an option for today’s systems designers” stated Francois Balay, CEO of MorethanIP, “ they are under intense pressure to deliver complex system level solutions in a highly com pressed time frame.” ASIC re-spins in deep sub-micron technology can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and time to market delay costs can be in the millions of dollars. MorethanIP utilizes programmable devices to validate its IP rapidly, followed by industry standards simulation test benches and finally with system level board and third party testing. This is followed by ASIC validation at leading ASIC foundries to ensure customer success in both FPGA and ASIC based systems.
MorethanIP 10 Gigabit Ethernet Cores are now hardware verified and have been fully checked with Innocor’s 10 Gigabit Testing Equipment and are interoperable with industry standard ASSP devices such as PMC-Sierra Xenon 10 Gigabit. Successfully completing the Interoperability check with the Innocor tester further demonstrates that MorethanIP Cores are compliant with IEEE802.3ae Ethernet devices.
“Verfication with Innocor Testers provides customers an enhanced level of confidence that the MAC and PCS IP products from MorethanIP will operate in accordance with the standards. Integrating 3rd party IP which has been thoroughly tested is critical in the race to introduce high quality systems on time and on budget.” said Randy Gill, President of Innocor.
Innocor’s TestPoint SM-9953 EX 10G multi-protocol tester is the industry’s only test product which combines full 10G line rate testing for SONET/SDH, ATM, POS/MPLS/IP, 10Gigabit Ethernet for the WAN and LAN in an all-in-one, ultra-compact box solution. Featuring an intuitive graphical user interface as well as a command line interface for automated tests, the SM-9953 EX boasts an impressive feature set at an affordable price. The SM-9953 EX is available with either 1310nm or 1550nm optics. For more information, see http://www.innocor.com/sonet_9953.htm
