Minima qualifies to join Arm Flexible Access Program to bring the Minima Chip to Life
Januar 24, 2025 -- Following our recent announcement of the groundbreaking Minima Chip, we are excited to share the next step in our journey towards embedding blockchain technology into every device: Minima has been approved to join the Arm Flexible Access program to accelerate our time to market.
The Minima Chip is designed to bring secure, decentralized blockchain capabilities directly into the hardware of countless industrial and electronic devices. By embedding blockchain services into a dedicated chip, Minima enables secure, autonomous operations within industries ranging from automotive and healthcare to manufacturing and smart cities. The Minima Chip will provide each device with its own secure node, capable of verifying data integrity, generating tokens, and enabling peer-to-peer messaging without compromising the primary functions of the device. This approach is critical in industries that demand the highest levels of security, performance, and regulatory compliance.
After an in-depth consultation process Minima can now leverage Arm’s world-class architecture to design a chip that meets the unique requirements of running a full blockchain node on even the smallest devices. The program allows us to tap into a vast array of processor technologies and optimize the Minima Chip for performance, security, and energy efficiency.
"Startups and early-stage semiconductor companies are under more pressure than ever to accelerate innovation and expedite their time to market," said Neil Parris, Director of Partner Success and Business Models at Arm. "With Arm Flexible Access, new players like Minima gain a streamlined, cost-efficient route to prototype development, giving them the freedom to experiment and design with confidence. We're excited to see how Minima leverages access to the world’s leading compute platform to drive their vision forward." Here’s why this collaboration is so important for the future of the Minima Chip:
- Access to Arm’s Advanced IP: With access to Arm’s IP portfolio, including their most advanced processors and system-on-chip designs, we are equipped to create a chip that meets the high standards of performance and security required for decentralized operations.
- Optimized Performance: Arm’s processors are known for their energy efficiency and performance, making them an ideal foundation for the Minima Chip. By utilizing Arm technology, we can design a chip that supports full blockchain nodes.
- Scalability and Flexibility: Arm’s flexible architecture allows us to design a chip that can scale across a wide range of devices, from low-power IoT sensors to more complex industrial machines and autonomous vehicles. This flexibility aligns perfectly with Minima’s vision of blockchain everywhere.
- Enhanced Security: Security is a key priority and by leveraging Arm’s trusted technology and our blockchain expertise, the Minima Chip will be engineered to ensure that all blockchain operations are secure, tamper-proof, and isolated from the main system, reducing vulnerabilities and safeguarding sensitive data.
The Path Forward
The Arm Flexible Access program is more than just access to cutting-edge technology; it’s a collaborative framework that will allow us to accelerate the development of the Minima Chip. Our engineering teams are already starting the design process. This will give Minima the technical foundation to fulfill our promise of blockchain everywhere, embedding secure blockchain nodes into everything from smart appliances and smart cars to industrial machines and IoT devices.
What’s Next
As we move forward, Minima will continue to provide updates on our progress in building the Minima Chip. We’re excited about the possibilities that Arm Flexible Access will unlock, and we look forward to sharing more technical details and timelines in the near future as we advance toward production.
The Minima Chip, powered by Arm’s cutting-edge technology, is the future of decentralized technology. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this exciting journey.
