Barco Silex delivers its JPEG 2000 IP cores on all 28nm FPGA platforms
Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium – 16 April 2012 – Barco Silex, Barco's center of competence for embedded video coding and electronic design, announces the support of its JPEG 2000 IP cores on all families of 28nm FPGA devices.
"We are pleased to move forward with the new generation of FPGAs." said Thierry Pauwels, Marketing & Sales Support for IP Business at Barco Silex. "Barco Silex is a long-time partner of both major FPGA vendors. As such, we are committed to support their latest devices as soon as they deliver."
The flexible JPEG 2000 IP cores from Barco Silex are already available on all 28nm FPGAs.
This covers the Altera Stratix-V and Xilinx Virtex-7 devices for high performance applications. And the Altera Arria-V & Cyclone-V and the Xilinx Kintex-7 & Artix-7 when cost-reduction is the key to success.
"We are committed to long term support", commented Jean-Marie Cloquet, Product Manager at Barco Silex. "The implementation on 28nm FPGAs is the natural continuity for our flexible JPEG 2000 IP cores. These new devices will allow to further push the limit of performances for high-end applications and to reduce the cost for low-end and mid-end products. Moreover they will improve the power consumption which is always critical."
Barco Silex offers the most flexible and comprehensive JPEG 2000 solutions on FGPA for broadcast and digital cinema applications. The support for the latest 28nm FPGA devices fits in the continuity of Barco Silex commitment to providing the industry with efficient and reliable solutions for JPEG 2000 while meeting the ever evolving constraints of cost and time-to-market.
