Interview - ARM: Asia to enjoy the highest growth in IC design (by Samson Yu, Taipei - Wen-Yu Lang, DigiTimes.com)
With the focus of the global IC design industry gradually shifting to Asia from North America, fabless companies in Asia are expected to experience the highest growth compared to their competitors in other regions, Jerry Ardizzone, executive vice president of worldwide sales for ARM, said in a recent interview.
ARM, a UK-based microprocessor intellectual property (IP) provider, has seen the highest growth in the number of its Asian clients, which contributed about 30% of ARM’s total sales in the third quarter of this year. Business from North America, which still accounted for half of ARM’s total sales, showed a decline, Ardizzone said.
