San Jose, CA, 30 May 2002 - ARC International (LSE: ARK) has completed another goal set by CEO Mike Gulett earlier this year by appointing James Lang head of all sales operations in Asia. He reports to Bill Caparelli, Sr. VP of Worldwide Sales.
"Having Jim join ARC adds the professional leadership to begin addressing sales opportunities into the growing Asian market," said Gulett. "Jim's experience and expertise will drive our embedded processor cores, software, peripherals, development tools and RTOS into these countries, and we are glad to have him on the ARC team." Lang will have responsibilities over all Asian countries, but will concentrate initially on Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and The People's Republic of China.
Lang joins ARC from ASIC International, where he was Western Area Sales Manager before it was sold to Flextronics Semiconductor. He was president and CEO of Decision Matrix Systems prior to then, and was vice president of Mass Storage sales at Cirrus Logic for six years before Decision Matrix. Before that, he held senior sales and marketing positions for several other high tech companies, including Adaptec, Zilog and Fujitsu Microelectronics. Lang holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and serves on the Board of Directors for Sales-Consultants and Decision Matrix Systems, Inc., and the Board of Advisors for Winnov LLP.
