GDA Technologies Scores Yet Again in IP; Switch port Controller Core makes PCI-SIG Integrators List

San Jose, CA, November 7, 2005

- GDA Technologies, Inc., a fast growing supplier of Silicon Intellectual Property (SIP) and Electronic Design Services (EDS), today announced that GPEX-SW (PCI Express switch port controller core) has passed PCI-SIG® compliance and interoperability requirements and has become the first IP core based on the PCI Express® architecture world-wide to be added to the PCI-SIG Integrators List for switch configuration.

“After successful compliance and interoperability testing, we're pleased to add GPEX-SW solution to the current PCI-SIG Integrators List,” said Tony Pierce, PCI-SIG Chairman. “As the PCI Express Integrators List continues to grow, we look forward to seeing more companies like GDA developing products that meet the requirements in our compliance program.”

GPEX-SW switch port controller core successfully completed the rigorous testing procedures of the compliance workshop. It passed all the test criteria set forth at the PCI-SIG compliance workshops including protocol, electrical, and configuration tests, and provided a complete and satisfactory PCI-SIG compliance checklist.

“It is indeed a momentous occasion for all of us at GDA Technologies as another product from our stable has made it to the PCI-SIG Integrators list. Our success today is the result of the concerted efforts of our team of dedicated engineers who worked tirelessly to get the switch version of the GPEX solution ready for customer deployment. With many designs wins with several of them production GPEX is today being considered as an industry standard,” said Ravi Thummarukudy, VP & GM of IC solutions division.

Compliance testing and interoperability validation plays a significant role in reducing development and market risks, ensuring smooth transition to the new standard and deployment of new products to the market. With this GDA has demonstrated to be in the forefront of the deployment of cutting edge technology and achieving world-class compliance and interoperability programs in delivering high-quality and timely products.

“Inclusion of our switch port controller core (GPEX-SW) solution to the PCI-SIG Integrators List is another tribute to the outstanding quality of our IP offerings,” said Amit Saxena, Director of IP and IP Solutions at GDA. And as demand for the PCI Express technology increases, our role in proliferation of this technology to computing, networking, and communications industries has made us the leading PCI Express IP provider in this rapidly growing market segment,” he added.

Successfully completing the PCI-SIG compliance and interoperability tests and getting added to the PCI-SIG Integrators List, provides independent confirmation about the effectiveness of GPEX-SW switch port controller core solution for the expedient development of PCI Express applications.

The switch port controller falls in the GDA's PCI Express (GPEX) IP portfolio, which is the most comprehensive solution available today for implementing the PCI Express technology in ASIC, FPGA and Structured ASIC designs. The highly configurable solution offers optimum area, power, timing, latency, bandwidth and ease of integration for a wide range of applications.

GPEX also supports endpoint, root complex, and hybrid implementations with all the possible link widths, virtual channels, functions and packet sizes specified in PCI Express specification. Line side interface is designed for interoperating with a wide range of PHY designs. Several interface options are offered on the system side to cover all major application scenarios.

GPEX is exhaustively verified in simulation as well as silicon interoperating with most of the available third party simulation models, silicon implementations and systems. GDA has participated in all the PCI Express compliance workshops and GPEX is the only IP solution available today which is interoperability validated in SIG workshops for endpoint, root complex and switch configurations.

The PCI-SIG is the Special Interest Group that owns and manages PCI specifications as open industry standards. The organization defines and implements new industry standard I/O (Input/Output) specifications as the industry's local I/O needs evolve. The PCI Special Interest Group was formed in 1992, and the organization became a nonprofit corporation, officially named "PCI-SIG" in the year 2000. Currently, more than 900 industry-leading companies are active PCI-SIG members worldwide. The PCI-SIG provides a forum for its companies who develop differentiated, interoperable products based on its specifications. For more information, visit the website http://www.pcisig.com
