eSOL and Infineon Enter Strategic Partnership for Next-generation Automotive Platforms Based on RISC-V/TriCore/Arm Microcontrollers

Tokyo, Japan, 5 September 2025 – eSOL, a leading developer of real-time embedded software solutions for the automotive and mobility industry, announced today that it has entered a strategic partnership with Infineon Technologies AG, a global semiconductor solution provider, to accelerate the joint development of next-generation automotive systems.

In the new era of software-defined vehicles (SDVs), software is becoming more important than ever to vehicle functionality and performance.

Through this collaboration, the partners intend to play their part in shaping the future of mobility by combining eSOL’s advanced software with high-performance hardware based on Infineon’s RISC-V/TriCore/Arm microcontrollers to provide secure and flexible development environments with the safety that automotive manufacturers demand in the SDV era.

The partnership will work both ways, with eSOL serving as an associated partner and preferred design house and Infineon as a technology partner. It will see the two companies drawing on their respective strengths to co-create solutions to the new challenges facing the automotive industry.

Tomoyuki Uda, Vice President, CBO, and General Manager of the Business Management Division, eSOL Co., Ltd., said: “I am delighted that our long-standing relationship with Infineon will now take the form of a strategic partnership. By combining Infineon’s high-performance microcontrollers with our scalable OSs and advanced software solutions, I am confident that we can provide customers with safe and efficient development environments for the complex software development of the SDV era. I look forward to our two companies working together to press ahead with innovation in the automotive industry.”

Mr. Thomas Schneid, Senior Director Software, Partnership & Ecosystem Management, Infineon Technologies AG, said: “eSOL is an important partner for us and an industry leader with advanced technical skills in AUTOSAR and secure OTA solutions. I am sincerely grateful that we have established a formal partnership. Automotive manufacturers will benefit from the tight integration of eSOL’s software platforms with our high-performance AURIX, TRAVEO, and PSOC microcontrollers, allowing them to be faster to market with systems that combine the functional safety and security that are vital in the era of SDVs. Through this collaboration with eSOL, I look forward to our working together to building the future of automobiles.”

Technical highlights of partnership

  • Powerful combination of eSOL software platforms with Infineon microcontrollers
Numerous production vehicles already use eSOL automotive software platforms in tandem with Infineon’s high-performance and highly reliable AURIX, TRAVEO, and PSOC microcontrollers. The extension of support to Infineon’s RISC-V microcontrollers is also planned.
  • Proprietary PSOC CXPI support
eSOL will also offer proprietary support for the CXPI onboard communication standard on Infineon’s PSOC microcontrollers. This draws on eSOL’s expertise in dealing with the diversity of in-vehicle networks. It is intended that this will become a standardized product in the future.
  • Multi-layered defense-in-depth using both hardware and software: Secure OTA solution
eSOL and Infineon offer a secure OTA solution that was presented at a webinar in March 2025. The solution features the AUBIST Classic Platform, a BSW from eSOL that complies with AUTOSAR Classic Platform, and proven software solutions for onboard diagnostics in the form of eSOL’s Dr. CAN and Dr. Repro. Use of this base software together with the hardware security functions of Infineon’s microcontrollers ensures safe and secure updating with multi-layered defense-in-depth protection of OTA at both the hardware and software level.

Upcoming exhibition: Promotional event

Infineon will host a seminar entitled “The Future of RISC-V Microcontrollers and Automotive Applications: Infineon’s Vision and Ecosystem Development” on September 30 at the Tokyo Conference Center Shinagawa in Japan. This will include exhibition of solutions that combine technologies from both eSOL and Infineon.

The theme of the eSOL booth will be “RISC-V Microcontrollers × eSOL Platforms: Essential Development Environments for the Era of Heterogenous Multi-Core Processors”. With a particular focus on the eMCOS® scalable real-time operating system featuring functional safety compliance and RISC-V support, the booth will provide visitors with the opportunity to see for themselves the development of next-generation automotive systems.
