Elliptic Announces Name Change and Strategy Update - Becomes Elliptic Technologies Inc.

June 16, 2009 - Security IP provider Elliptic today announced that its shareholders had unanimously agreed to change the company name from Elliptic Semiconductor Inc. to Elliptic Technologies Inc. The name changes reflects Elliptic’s broad range of embedded security products and services including hardware IP cores, software and services.

Today, embedded security is part of almost every electronic product. Security offers privacy and authentication in wireless designs such as Wi-Fi access points, WiMAX or 3GPP base stations, mobile phones, media players and high-definition televisions, virtual private networking appliances, storage solutions and payment applications. Designers looking for a security solution targeted exclusively at embedded applications can leverage the broad range of products and services available from Elliptic.

Elliptic’s security portfolio is divided into three product groups.

• The broadest range of security semiconductor IP cores in the industry;
• High performance, compact, embedded security software including symmetric, asymmetric, content protection and secure boot; and
• Security consulting to help customers achieve compliance (i.e. FIPS 140, Common Criteria, Suite B) or provide guidance in their security designs.
