CoWare Delivers Integration of Virtual Platforms with Lauterbach's TRACE32 PowerView Debugger
Integration Enables Extending the Use of Lauterbach’s Proven Technology to Virtual Platform-based Software Development with a Common Software Debugging Tool from Pre-silicon Design to Production
SAN JOSE, Calif. – January 11, 2007 – CoWare, Inc., the leading supplier of platform-driven electronic system-level (ESL) design software and services, announced the integration of the CoWare Virtual Platform product family with the Lauterbach Trace32® PowerView Debugger. The integration enables developers to debug software executing on a Virtual Platform with Lauterbach’s leading debugger. It complements CoWare’s Virtual Platform technology to deliver a complete development tool set, including the virtual platform execution environment, the virtual platform analyzer, and the processor software debugger. It also provides a single software-debugging interface from virtual platform-based design to production. Using the integration will result in faster, better, and lower cost software development.
“The integration with CoWare Virtual Platform provides a common software-debugging environment from pre-silicon development to production,” stated Norbert Weiss, International sales manager from Lauterbach. “Extending the use of our technology to virtual platform-based design with CoWare, the ESL design leader, will extend the value we jointly deliver to our customers.”
“Lauterbach’s proven debugger technology has gained significant acceptance in the software development community,” said Marc Serughetti, director of marketing at CoWare. “Providing an integration of our Virtual Platform technology with Lauterbach’s Trace32 PowerView Debugger will enable software developers to use well-known tools to move seamlessly through the different software development phases.”
About CoWare Virtual Platforms for Software Development
Virtual platforms for software development are fast and scalable models of the system hardware, including the device hardware and the environment it evolves in. Unlike traditional software methods, virtual platforms combine execution speed, early availability, controllability, observability, and determinism with pre- and post-silicon usability. CoWare delivers tools and services for the creation, distribution, and use of virtual platforms for software development to leading semiconductor and electronic device companies worldwide.
