CoWare Delivers Support for ARM Cortex-based Applications
Major Semiconductor and Mobile Phone Companies Rely on CoWare's ESL 2.0 Solutions for Optimizing ARM Cortex-based Designs
SAN JOSE, Calif. –– June 30, 2008 –– CoWare, Inc., the leading supplier of platform-driven electronic system-level (ESL) design software and services, announced support for the ARM Cortex A8 and ARM Cortex R4 processor models. The addition of these ARM models further extends the CoWare Model Library of ARM processor models for use in heterogeneous, multi-vendor, multi-core designs. These new ARM Cortex models, already in use by CoWare customers, enable designers to optimize architecture design, and perform platform verification and software development earlier in the design cycle.
Today, leading chip developers and mobile phone companies rely on CoWare ESL 2.0 solutions to make key decisions for their next-generation, Cortex-based production designs. CoWare solutions solve the new design challenges associated with platform architecture design, platform verification, application sub-system design, processor design, DSP algorithm design, and software development, and are based on open industry standards including SystemC.
“With the growing complexity of today’s multi-core designs and the ever-increasing amount of software content required, CoWare is focused on providing access to a full range of ARM processor models, interconnect models and PrimeCell peripheral models,” stated Tom De Schutter, marketing manager, IP and third party relationships, CoWare. “The addition of SystemC models for ARM’s high-performance Cortex processors to the CoWare Model Library enables our most advanced customers to optimize their ARM Cortex-based designs.”
