ARM revenues grow 60%; royalties come from 78.7 million units in Q2

CAMBRIDGE, England -- RISC processor core supplier ARM Holding plc here today reported a 60% increase in revenues to £23.1 million ($34.4 million) compared to £21.4 million ($31.9 million) in the same period last year. ARM said its income before taxes was £16.5 million ($24.6 million) in the second quarter. "The second quarter saw further growth in royalty revenues as unit shipments by our partners rose once again to 78.7 million compared to 71.8 million in the previous quarter," said Robin Saxby, chairman and CEO of ARM. "We also experienced a sharp increase in the sale of development systems, which represented a record 14% of revenues."
