ARM Multi-ICE JTAG Emulator Available For Windows CE Platform Builder
The ARM Multi-ICE emulator connects to all ARM core-based SoCs, containing Embedded-ICE® logic. This allows the core to be started and stopped under control of the Windows CE Platform Builder and brings the benefit of debugging the Windows CE start up code. It gives true visibility of the target state, including views of coprocessor registers and application memory, using the JTAG debug capabilities of the ARM debug architecture. The Multi-ICE emulator is non-intrusive on the resident software as no target resident debug monitor is required. The Multi-ICE emulator is ideally suited for debugging Windows CE technology-based final products as it does not require any target resources, such as an ethernet port.
"Debugging is a crucial element in getting final product ready for market in the quickest time possible, and the combination of the ARM Multi-ICE emulator and Windows CE Platform Builder gives developers the ability to do this in the quickest time possible," said Lester Perera, product manager, Debug Tools, ARM. "Windows CE is very popular in the embedded market place and we are able to supply the most advanced debugging solution to support it. With the availability of this solution, ARM is demonstrating yet again its commitment to supporting its design Partners in the most comprehensive manner."
Availability
This enhancement to the ARM Multi-ICE product is available as a free-of-charge upgrade to users of the Multi-ICE v2.1 product and is available for download from http://www.arm.com/eXDI from 26th February 2002.
