Argon Design Licenses Argon Streams HEVC to Socionext
Award winning Argon Streams ensures full conformance testing of HEVC/H.265 video decoders.
CAMBRIDGE, England -- August 31, 2016 -- Argon Design Ltd, a leading supplier of advanced video verification solutions, has signed licensing and support agreements for Argon Streams with leading Japanese semiconductor company Socionext. Socionext is a new, innovative enterprise that designs, develops and delivers System-on-Chip products to customers worldwide.
Socionext uses Argon Streams to verify their HEVC video decoder SoC.
Argon Streams is a set of conformance test bit-streams providing full coverage and verification of HEVC/H.265 video decoders. The bit-streams are derived directly from the specification using Argon Design’s advanced compiler technology. The process uses directed random numbers to ensure that the bit-streams provide comprehensive coverage of all functions, value ranges and cross coverage combinations in the complete specification. Argon Streams includes full support for HEVC including Main, Main and Main12 profiles up to level 6.2, including max width and max height streams for each profile, and example streams at all resolutions in Table A.8 of the specification from SQCIF up to 8192*4320.
Tatsushi Otsuka, Director, CODEC Development Department, Connected Imaging Business Unit for Socionext states that, “We have been impressed by the extensive coverage provided by Argon Streams and Argon were able to work closely with our engineering team to fully support our verification process“.
Alan Scott, CEO of Argon Design, adds, “We look forward to working with Socionext to help ensure that their video decoders are fully compatible with the HEVC specification”.
Argon Streams is marketed and supported worldwide by CamverTech. For more information visit www.argondesign.com/streams, contact your local CamverTech sales representative, or email streams@argondesign.com.
