Anadigics Expands Intellectual Property Portfolio
August 04, 2005 -- ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD), a leading supplier of wireless and broadband solutions, today announced five new patents covering innovations in the design and development of radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs). The patents strengthen the Company's impressive intellectual property portfolio and extend its technological advantages across its wireless and broadband product families.
"ANADIGICS' RFIC design expertise allows us to create pioneering new products to power the next generation of wireless and broadband devices," said Dr. Charles Huang, Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer at ANADIGICS. "These patents extend our intellectual property portfolio and exemplify the spirit of innovation that is the driving force behind our differentiated solutions."
Patent 6,806,767 describes a load switching circuit for linear PA applications that improves efficiency at different output power modes. The output load is adjusted according to the power requirements, which results in dynamic mode switching, thereby enabling higher levels of efficiency.
Patent 6,856,004 describes a method for creating a compact wireless PA with improved performance through a novel circuit layout. The device is comprised of transistors on a substrate with a via hole, which reduces the size of the device and improves amplifier performance.
Patent 6,853,526 details a method of protection from overvoltage transients in CATV line amplifier ICs. This excellent level of protection is offered without distortion of signals, modulation of power lines, or damage to sensitive electronic components.
Patent 6,882,227 was granted for a method of using the bias circuit to achieve improved linearity in wireless local area network (WLAN) power amplifiers (PAs). The use of a bias circuit offers a simpler, cost-effective approach compared with traditional linearization circuit-design techniques.
Patent 6,842,075 was granted for an improved bias circuitry for wireless infrastructure gain blocks. The circuitry allows the IC to operate from a lower supply voltage, significantly reducing the power consumption of the device.
