Altera Demonstrates PCI Express and Advanced Switching Solutions at Spring IDF
| What: | Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR), the first FPGA vendor to offer a PCI-SIG compliant PCI Express solution, will demonstrate a PCI Express to Gigabit Ethernet bridge at the Spring Intel Developer Forum (IDF). Supported by PLD Applications and MorethanIP, Alteraâs complete and compliant PCI Express solutions feature Stratix® GX FPGAs and offer designers a low-risk methodology for their PCI Express applications. Altera and Modelware will also demonstrate an Advanced Switching solution for point-to-point high-speed serial communication using Alteraâs Stratix GX FPGA and Modelwareâs Advanced Switching IP. Implemented on an Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (ATCA) backplane, this âtriple speedâ demonstration features three different data streams simultaneously operating at three different data rates in an ATCA chassis. Stratix GX FPGAs provide system architects with a fully integrated solution that enables them to implement Advanced Switching today. |
