Advanced Technetix Commits to Atmel and ARM for Security for Its Patented AccessKey
LOS ANGELES-- October 03, 2006--Advanced Technetix, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AVXN), announced today that chipsets from Atmel® Corporation (NASDAQ:ATML) and software from ARM Technologies (ARM Holdings Plc (LSE:ARM); (Nasdaq:ARMHY)) is incorporated in the development of Advanced Technetix’s patented AccessKey™, due to be released in the fourth quarter of this year.
George Stevens, Advanced Technetix’s CEO, said, “We are purchasing two hardened, secure chipsets from Atmel for our AccessKey™ product lines. These form the primary core of our AccessKey™ technology. Atmel products utilize ARM processors, one of the most prolific and versatile processors in use today within embedded products. Atmel promotes our use of ARM development software and we support this philosophy and are using ARM software for our firmware development with the Atmel devices. Advanced Technetix has incorporated the Atmel Secure ARM into the AccessKey™.
Atmel and ARM design the technology that lie at the heart of advanced digital products, from wireless, networking and consumer entertainment solutions to imaging, automotive, security and storage devices.
Advanced Technetix’s new AccessKey™ remote will be able to control up to four devices and this same technology will also be available with their triple play set top box debuting soon thereafter.
About Advanced Technetix, Inc.
Advanced Technetix’s suite of advanced technology products, including its patented and proprietary “AccessKey™," a flash drive-sized, portable version of the Company’s wireless “Triple Play” Digital Media Center™, is unique in the telecommunications field, and relates particularly to the quickly-developing IPtv protocol (television broadcasting over the Internet) revolution. Advanced Technetix’s products connect directly to both a television and/or a computer to enable viewing of broadcast and cable television wherever the viewer may be. Both the AccessKey™ and the Triple Play set-top box™ enable traditional Internet access, telephone service (VOIP) and data and video capability including video conferencing. The boxes’ new IPtv cache will also feature music channels that can play music and the corresponding video if it is available, as well as provide “time shifted” services such as the ability to record one program while watching another. Advanced Technetix believes it is the first company with the ability to deliver Internet TV with the clarity of high definition to ordinary TV sets.
About ARM Technologies
ARM - The Architecture for the Digital World™. ARM Holdings Plc, ranked by Dataquest as the number one semiconductor IP supplier in the world, emerged as a pre-eminent force in the semiconductor revolution. When ARM pioneered the concept of openly-licensable IP for the development of 32-bit RISC processor-based SoCs in the early 1990s, it changed the dynamics of the semiconductor industry forever. By licensing, rather than manufacturing and selling its chip technology, the company established a new business model that has redefined the way processors are designed, produced and sold. More importantly, ARM® technology has shaped a new era of next-generation electronics: ARM Powered® processors are pervasive in electronic products, driving key functions in a diverse variety of applications in key markets, including Home, Mobile, Enterprise, Embedded and Emerging. ARM licenses its IP to a network of Partners, which includes some of the world's leading semiconductor and system companies, including 19 out of the top 20 semiconductor vendors worldwide, as ranked by iSuppli Corp. These Partners utilize low-cost, power-efficient ARM processor designs to create processors, peripherals and SoC solutions.
