Frame Rate Converter for 4K
Overview
TMC’s FRUC (Frame Rate Up-Converter) for 4K RTL Core utilizes proprietary ”DMNA- MEMC” (Motion Estimation and Motion Compensation) algorithm which generates high accuracy and non-artifact interpolating frames with compact circuit resource. By inserting the interpolating new frames into the original frames, the smooth 4K video images can be generated
Key Features
- TMC’s FRUC utilizes “MEMC” algorithm optimized by DMNA.
- Extremely small generations of halo, judder, and artifact on the interpolating frames.
- 2:2 pull down and 2:3 pull down detections are implemented.
- Processing functions for motionless section, scrolling ticker, and screen edge are implemented.
- Multiple latency modes can be set.
- Parameters for interpolation can be set from outside of the core.
- Implementation to FPGA is possible.
