SoC Solutions Delivers Ready-to-Use IP Subsystems for Cortus Processors
--SoC Solutions today announced the availability of ready-to-use IP subsystems for the Cortus ultra-low power, very small, high-performance 32-bit processor core targeting the 8/16-bit upgrade market. The Pre-Integrated IP(TM) (PIP) includes support for the APS2 processor for high-speed, 32-bit, performance-focused applications; and the APS3 processor, a 16/32-bit variant targeting code density sensitive applications.
The new PIP products provide all the necessary bus controllers, timers, interrupt controllers, UARTs, SRAM controllers, and I/O interfaces. Each PIP also includes device drivers and boot code needed to start developing application software immediately.
Two PIP products are available now for use with the Cortus microprocessors: the low gate count APS-PIP for small low-power applications, and the APS-PIP-A with AMBA AHB system bus and APB peripherals bus for more complex SoC applications. The PIPS were designed to be smaller for efficient SoC designs without the unnecessary features found in many commercial cores.
The cores are available in synthesizable HDL source, or optimized FPGA netlist formats. Designers can easily add custom logic or additional IP cores for applications such as factory automation, automotive systems, hand-held devices, motor controls, or intelligent toys.
