SiWorks Inc. Becomes First Semiconductor Intellectual Property Company to Join WiMAX
Calgary, Canada - June 10th, 2003 - SiWorks Inc. a leading provider of semiconductor design services and semiconductor intellectual property (IP), today announced that it has become the first semiconductor intellectual property company to join the World Interoperability for Microwave Access forum (WiMAX). The company is actively marketing and developing semiconductor intellectual property cores to support the IEEE 802.16a and ETSI HiperMAN wireless standards for broadband wireless access in metropolitan access networks (WMAN). SiWorks plans to engage with other WiMAX members to assist and support the development of semiconductor chipsets for these new wireless standards.
