MindTree adds Phonebook Access Profile and Basic Printing Profile to its Bluetooth EtherMind Stack and Profile Portfolio
- MindTree Consulting, a leading provider of Bluetooth® technology Intellectual Property (IP) and solutions, announced the availability of two Bluetooth wireless technology application profiles – the Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) and the Basic Printing Profile (BPP).

PBAP is much richer than the Bluetooth Object Push Profile (that could be used to push vCard formatted phonebook entry from one device to another). It helps exchange a wide variety of objects such as contacts, call information, text messages, alarms and calendar information, adding an extra dimension to hands free cell phone usage. BPP allows users of cell phones and PDAs, for the first time, to wirelessly fire prints of text emails, short messages, calendar items, phone book items and formatted documents.
MindTree’s EtherMind Bluetooth Upper Stack is BQB certified/v1.2 qualified, and suitable for embedded and mobile devices, offering a very compact, low footprint solution for applications such as mobile phones/PDAs, telephony devices, hands free automotive units, stereo headsets, mouse/keyboards, portable players, barcode readers and others. MindTree offers both versions of its EtherMind Stack & Profiles - embedded as well as host based and offers customization and porting services around its Bluetooth IP portfolio.
