Dolphin Integration launches an embedded Li-Ion Battery Charger
-- A Battery Charger for Lithium-Ion batteries is now available among Dolphin Integration's products for embedded power management solutions.
"This Virtual Component follows our strategic trend to provide highly integrated power management functions for mixed-signal SoCs", comments Marie Maurel, product manager. "We have here taken into account not only the system-makers’ concerns to guarantee the lifetime and safety of Li-Ion batteries, but also the needs for SoC integrators to solve out integration issues raised by the high input voltage supported, as this battery charger accepts up to 6.5 V".
Moreover, this new option BC-Li-A proposes a high resolution and accurate voltage monitoring to prevent overcharge or undercharge thus extending the number of battery life-cycles and guaranteeing its safety.
Flexibility is ensured thanks to its programmable charge current, which enables to optimize the charge current from 100 mA up to 1000 mA according to the battery specifications.
Its feature completeness for a minimal real estate makes this Battery Charger an optimal and flexible solution for integrators needing to combine cost-effectiveness and operating safety.
