ATEME Releases Revolutionary Single-Chip Main Profile MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Encoder
PARIS--March 24, 2006 -- ATEME (www.ateme.com), the world leader in video compression technology, introduces the ATE4000, a unique Single Chip MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 Standard Definition Main Profile Encoder.
The ATE4000 achieves unprecedented density without compromising on video quality while boasting exceptional compression efficiency. The revolutionary IP Core enables system design with unparalleled channels density.
Target markets for the ATE4000 are Broadcast Digital Television, IPTV, Satellite, Telco Head-Ends and professional encoders for distribution of video over wired or wireless IP networks where bandwidth and picture quality cannot be compromised.
The ATE4000 is using the massive computing capabilities of state-of-the-art FPGA technology to achieve best in class performance in the fastest design cycles, contrasting with the traditional multi- processor approach complexities. Strict design rules enforced during all stages of the design ensure optimum scalability and upgradeability for a true future proof implementation.
Interoperability tests are routinely conducted with major industry decoder manufacturers to ensure seamless deployment and integration.
ATEME's chip features standard I/O interface, generates time stamps and NAL headers for easy encapsulation in MPEG-2 TS and RTP transport layers. Its flexible and powerful control API combined with precise Rate Control (CBR, VBR) make it ideal to realize the full potential of H.264 scalability in the widest range of applications.
"Its reprogrammable nature allows our customers to benefit from the latest improvements in algorithmic and coding efficiency, and guarantee the ATE4000 will continuously meet and exceed the stringent demands of the broadcast, broadband and professional video equipment manufacturers worldwide," said Dominique Edelin, Chief Strategist of ATEME. "The ATE4000 is architected to make the difference for next generation end-products using MPEG-4 AVC/H.264."
The ATE4000 is available immediately.
